eLoop llc Sets Recycling Goal of 1 Million Cell Phones from Earth Day to World Environment Day
Unique Cell Phone Recycling Fundraiser Launches for Organizations Across PA
Murrysville, PA—With a goal of recycling 1 million cell phones by World Environment Day, eLoop llc, a Murrysville based electronics recycler, has announced the launch of its Last Call cell phone fundraising program. Through eLoop's Last Call initiative, organizations can raise money by collecting outdated cell phones, which are then recycled responsibly with special attention to the destruction of data.
Last Call is available to schools, local organizations and non-profits. Businesses and corporations participating in Last Call can designate a charity of their choosing to be the recipient of the funds raised through cell phone recycling.
How Does the Program Work?
All models of cell phones, PDAs and beepers—as well as chargers, batteries and cell phone accessories—can be donated.
- Organizations sign up for Last Call by sending an email to info@eloopllc.com A set of Last Call boxes is assigned to the organization and shipped to them with specially designated serial numbers.
- Organizations collect phones in the specially designed Last Call collection box.
- After the box is full, it is transitioned into a pre-paid self-mailer that ships back to eLoop.
- The box is weighed, and the weight is recorded against the serial number that matches the organization.
- Organizations will be paid based on the weight received.
- The cell phones are recycled through an environmentally friendly process and data from each phone is securely destroyed.
"With today's rapid technology innovations, cell phones are easily replaced and old models are thrown in a drawer or desk," said Ned Eldridge, President of eLoop llc. "Through Last Call, we're not only able to recycle these phones and keep the toxic materials within out of landfills, but local organizations are able to benefit from a fundraiser that's easy and effective. Consumers can also rest easy knowing that eLoop is a certified eSteward through the Basel Action Network. We will be recycling responsibly. We will destroy all data. And landfills will be preserved."
